it’s highly overrated to believe in your own statement. the important thing is to make everyone else believe in it. that’s why I told ignasi aballí, when introduced to him as a painter, that actually I’m really a writer who just stopped writing. it’s not quite true, just a little bit, but the embarrassing part is that I just copied that idea from vila-matas book about bartleby.
most of the good artists I know are some genuine starfuckers and/or namedroppers.
